Any reason not to move from DHCP to static IP's?

Messagepar kevinmanuel » Lun 26 Mar 2018 13:32

I'm hoping some of you can give me some advice on whether to continue using DHCP on the network I'm in charge of at work. There are about 50 workstations and 10 or so servers.Right now, all servers have static IP's and most workstations use DHCP. Due to some fairly sporatic issues with IP conflicts as well as my tendency to move towards consistency, I'm considering losing DHCP alltogether and giving everyone static IP's for their workstations. What are the drawbacks to doing this? I can't really think of any offhand so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Please help.

I did not find the right solution from the internet.
